Portland Story Teater’s Urban Tellers Comes to Alberta Abbey

Friday, November 13, 2015

The Portland Story Theater’s Urban Tellers event, held this weekend at Alberta Abbey, will feature the real, true stories of six ordinary people who are woven into the fabric of the city.

The evening will kick off at 7 PM on Saturday, November 14 at Alberta Abbey, located at 126 NE Alberta Street, with live music from jazz artists Bamberger, Engel, Hines and Eave.

The stories will begin at 8 PM. Storytellers Chuck McConnell, Teresa Schader, Chetter Galloway, Cheryl Green, Kate Raphael and Deborah Byrne will delight guests with stories about relationships, dangerous situations and why it’s never too late to learn to play the fiddle.

The event is put on by the Portland Story Theatre, a local non-profit dedicated to making the narrative arts an internal part of Portland’s rich cultural identity. They are committed to bringing an authentic story and theater experience to inspire, challenge and expand a sense of community in Portland’s urban environment.

Food and drink will be available at the show. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $18 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Portland Story Theater’s website.
