NWS Alert: Portland High Winds Reach Up to 50 MPH (with Updates)

The National Weather Service issues a high wind warning for the Portland Metro Area that will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

The alert was issues at 12:25 p.m. and also includes the Willamette Valley and parts of Southwest Washington. 

The NWS expects winds from 10 to 20 mph will “increase abruptly in the afternoon to 25 to 35 mph with widespread gusts to 50 mph,” the alert stated.

Downed tree limbs, sporadic power outages and downed power lines were reported across the region.
