The 2019 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show has been canceled, announced Stuart Burgdoerfer, the executive Vice President of L Brands, which owns Victoria’s Secret, on Thursday during a conference call.

“We will be communicating to customers, but nothing similar in magnitude to the fashion show,” said Burgdoerfer on the call.

The brand did not specify if the cancellation is just temporary, or if the show is done for good.

History of the Show

The Fashion Show was launched in 1995 and helped produce supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, and Miranda Kerr.

The show was first televised in 2001 on ABC and on CBS from 2002 to 2017.

In 2018, the Fashion Show returned to ABC.

According to Fortune, the 2018 show received the lowest ratings ever.

Victoria's Secret Sales Decline

The cancellation of the Fashion Show comes as the store's sales have continued to decline across the country.

Fortune reports Victoria’s Secret sales fell 7% in the last quarter, compared to 2% during the game period last year.

According to Fortune, Victoria’s Secret store sales have dropped every quarter since the fourth quarter of 2016.
