The demand for quality tech professionals can be found in a myriad of different types of companies.

Oregon is the second best state for IT Professionals to find employment, according to a recent study published by Information Week

Silicon Valley is the typical place we think of as the IT haven, however, that is rapidly changing as both cities and companies continue to grow.

The data shared by Information Week comes from the tech job site, Dice, and reveals that each metro area with the most tech jobs has more than 500 job opportunities.

Here are the percentages of where the most jobs are found:

•    Raleigh, N.C. (23%)
•    Portland, Ore. (21%)
•    Hartford, Conn. (14%)
•    Washington/Baltimore (14%)
•    Silicon Valley (10%)

Also, while many people may think these job opportunities are found in tech specific companies, the demand for quality tech professionals can be found in a myriad of different types of companies.

"In general, tech is hot across all industries. Companies are eager to land top tech talent in a competitive marketplace with a narrow talent pool,” said Shravan Goli, president of Dice.

It sounds like IT is definitely one of the “hotter” fields to get into, and obviously Oregon is the right place to be for up and coming, innovative tech professionals.
