Police find 68 pounds of pot in mens' vehicle during traffic stop

Oregon State Police arrested two Washington men after finding nearly 68 pounds of pot in their car after a traffic stop near Medford, police said.

Saturday morning Michael Edward Green, 46, and Shaun Booth, 41, both from Buckley, Washington, were driving a rented Hyundai Sonata with California license plates on I-5 northbound when they were stopped by an officer for speeding, according to police.

The officer discovered 68 pounds of pot and nearly 10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in their vehicle. The estimated value of the seized marijuana was $125,000, police said.

Police said both men were booked in the Jackson County jail for unlawful possession and delivery of marijuana and unlawful possession of psilocybin mushrooms.

Oregon State Police said they are continuing the investigation.
