Party Like a Pirate at the Swashbuckler’s Ball
Friday, November 13, 2015
All of the finest captains and scalawags in Portland will be on hand for a night of fine food, drink, music, dancing and raffles. This is the sixth annual edition of the pirate-themed event.
Music for the event will be provided by the Young Dubliners, a local Celtic rock group. Also on hand will be Portland’s own Coming Up Threes and Chernova, who return to the Swashbucklers Ball after wildly popular performances in past years. Five Pint Mary, a punk-influenced Irish and European folk band will make their Swashbuckler’s Ball debut this year.
The ball’s charity raffle is always a much-anticipated part of the event. This year’s raffle will benefit the Uprise Books Project, a Portland-based nonprofit that works to end the cycle of poverty through literacy by providing new banned and challenged books to underprivileged teens in the area.
The Swashbuckler’s Ball will set sail this Saturday, November 14 from 7 PM to 12 AM at the Melody Ballroom, located at 615 SE Alder Street.
General admission tickets for the event are $25 each, with VIP tickets, which include a reserved seat, along with food drink and other giveaways, going for $70.
For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Swashbuckler’s Ball website.
