Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Clackamas County

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Highway 224 in Clackamah County on Wednesday.

Oregon State Police said that the victim was an adult male. He was walking in the eastbound lanes of Highway 224 when he was truck by a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck moving east. The pedestrian was thrown onto the shoulder and died as a result of the crash. The driver called 911 after the incident. 

The accident occurred near milepost 12 of Highway 224, just east of Interstate 205 in Happy Valley. This portion of Highway 224 is an unlit  rural high way with one eastbound lane and one westbound lane divided by a double yellow line. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and evidence indicates he was walking in the lane of travel when struck.

Police have not released the victim’s name because no contact with next of kings been made. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
