Portland Police Arrest Suspect After Stabbing
Tuesday, April 26, 2016
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Burnside Street on Saturday, April 23 at approximately 8:33 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, Mitchell Ray Jones, 50, suffering from serious injuries. Jones was taken by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Officers in the area located the suspect walking out of the area and took him into custody without incident.
Through an investigation, officers learned that there was a dispute among the men prior to the stabbing. Both the victim and suspect are homeless.
