video: Portland Police Reach Out to Sexual Assault Victims With Video Promoting the Rose Project

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

The Portland Police Bureau have released a public service announcement for the Rose Project. The project is one that would allow sexual assault victims to see the results of their kids, if they so choose.

See the Video Below

In the first quarter of 2015, the Portland Police Bureau undertook and completed an extensive audit regarding the number of Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence kits stored in its property room.

As a result, the police applied for and received a federal grant to help with the cost of testing and investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau has sent the following kits to be tested:

  • 2010, 2011, 2012 for adult victims with known offenders
  • 2004, 2005, 2006 for minor victims with known offenders

If you are a victim of a sex crime and had sexual assault kit collected, you have an option to know the status of your sexual assault kit. Please call 503-823-0125 or email us [email protected]

Due to the very personal and confidential nature of these crimes, the Rose Project will be unable to provide information to anyone except the victim listed on the police report.
