Red Cross Responds to Pair of New Year’s Day Fires

Team members received a report of a residential fire in the 200 block of Northwest 3rd Avenue at 1 AM. The single-family fire affected one adult.
The Red Cross provided assistance for temporary lodging, assistance to address immediate basic needs, and recovery information.
The Red Cross also responded to a large residential fire in Tigard at roughly 5 AM. The blaze occurred in the 11000 block of SW Greenburg Road in Tigard.
This multi-family fire affected 11 adults, 1 child, and a variety of pets.

A four-alarm fire ripped through South Albany High School Wednesday morning, causing more than $1 million in damage.
