Uber

Archie's Press created an interactive "Uber Portland" map that allowed guests to connect string to different local neighborhoods throughout the city. Photo by Byron Beck.

Last week Uber held a fun, freewheeling party at Jacobsen Salt Co. in celebration of their launch (finally) in Portland.

Here is what they had to say about the party: “The city of rain, rivers, roses, bridges, books, bicycles, coffee, carts, beers and bands now officially has ride sharing…No matter what side of the river you identify with, please join us in celebrating Portland’s neighborhoods being more connected than ever before.”

Drinks, bites and surprise entertainment was provided by Portland's favorite East and West side spots including Bunk Bar and Clyde Common.

Guests included Uber’s West Coast General Manager William Barnes and David Plouffe, political strategist best known as the campaign manager for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign who is currently the Senior Vice President of Policy and Strategy for Uber. Local politicos and prominent Portlanders also filled the room.
