Red Cross Responds to Cornelius Fire
Tuesday, January 26, 2016
Responders assisted two adults and three children, along with their pets, with lodging and assistance to address immediate basic needs.
A single family fire caused the family to be displaced from their residence in the 2800 block of N. Davis Court in Cornelius. Red Cross volunteers also provided recovery services, information, disaster health and disaster mental health services.
The Red Cross advocates emergency preparedness and offers the installation of free smoke alarms in communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Residents may call (503) 528-5783 or complete an online form to schedule an appointment.
The Red Cross also provides resources to help you now what to do before, during and after a home fire. This information, and more, is available on their website or in a free Prepare! Resource Guide published by the American Red Cross Cascades Region.
