After four years at Nostrana, the Negroni Social, part of Portland’s take on “Negroni Week,” moved the party to Jacobsen Salt Co. at 602 SE Salmon Street for its fifth annual affair.

This year’s theme was “Negronis Under The Sea” and the invitation only party encouraged 50’s dance or “Back to the Future”—a la Marty McFly—attire. There were even prizes for the best dressed. And pizza from Tastebuds and Negroni push-pops for the rest of the Negroni-fueled crowd.

See Slides Below: Negroni Social at Jacobsen Salt Co.

As for the Negronis, twelve different bars, each representing a different month of the year, featured twelve different bars and 12 bartenders including Brandon Josie, Jeffrey Seymour, Peter Carpenter, Angel Teta, Tyler Stevens and Antonio Parlapiano from The Jerry Thomas Project in Rome, Italy who created the Negroni del Professore. Holding court over the auspicious occasion was Count Negroni himself.

The Negroni Social is part of Negroni Week presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari. The week was launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes around the world.

According to their site, from 2013 to 2014, Negroni Week grew from more than 100 participating bars to more than 1,300 participating bars around the world and more than $120,000 raised for charities.

Negroni Week will take place through June 7.
